Our Valentine's couples wheel class is perfect for those looking to try something new together, no experience required.

You will be guided by an instructor on the basics such as centering, pulling walls, shaping simple forms.

Sit side by side sharing laughs, getting a little messy, and making a tangible keepsake where the focus is on fun and not perfection.

 

Learn the basics of wheel throwing in this 5 week hands on class.

What you’ll learn

  • Wedging/prepping clay

  • Centering, opening & pulling walls

  • Making cylinders, bowls, and simple vessels

  • Trimming feet/refining your forms

  • Basic glazing and surface finishing

Reserve your spots early, seating is limited to keep class sizes small.

Blue Water Clay is a full service ceramic arts studio in San Pedro, CA. We offer memberships, classes, day passes, firing services, workshops, and special events. First opened in 2017, we have expanded into a 6,000 sq. ft. studio with plenty of workspace and all the equipment needed for artists and enthusiasts to explore their love of clay. Whether a professional artist or beginner, Blue Water Clay is where you want to be.

We currently have over one dozen large work tables, 17 pottery wheels, 3 electric bisque kilns, a Geil 16 cu. ft. downdraft gas kiln as well as a spray booth, extruder and slab roller. Bisque firings are continuous; the gas kiln is fired weekly (cone 10 reduction).
